FINANCIAL AID
SSA is proud to offer an income-based financial aid program, intended to bridge the gap between what a family can afford to pay and the full cost of tuition. Grants are made each semester and a new application is required each term, as family circumstances and the program’s allotment may change. Financial Aid is considered separately from the admissions process, and it is determined on a case-by-case basis. With some families paying as little as 10% of the total cost of tuition.
Once a student has been accepted for admission, financial aid is determined and renewed on the basis of demonstrated financial need without regard to race, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, genetic information, disability status, or family structure.
First priority is given to students currently enrolled with financial aid. This is to provide families in the program assurance that funds will be available for them each year as long as they continue to qualify or until their child(ren) graduate or withdraw. The Financial Committee then reviews current students who have newly applied for assistance due to hardship or qualifying change in circumstances. We expect SSA families who begin paying full tuition to continue doing so, however, we recognize that unexpected and significant financial changes do occur. Finally, newly accepted students are given consideration for financial aid.
With the goal of making our school truly accessible to as many families as possible, SSA's Financial Committee (FC) will review all applications and determine Financial Aid grants. Financial aid information is held strictly confidential and not shared with any member of the community outside of the Committee and identifying information is only shared with the Committee if pertinent in the instance of an extenuating circumstance.
For any questions or inquiries please contact the Financial Committee directly at fc@sudburyschoolofatlanta.org.
